Yasir Bashir-Autism Speaks Advocate, Peace Love Solve Brand Ambassador & Whistle for Change Board Member.

Mr. DC 2022 Yasir Bashir is a celebrity public figure and winner of the Mr. DC 2022 title. Bashir was
raised in the DMV area and attended UMD. Celebrity makeup artist Yasir Bashir has worked with names
like Gayle King, Alicia Quarles, Maria Shriver, Andrea Mitchell, Michelle Trachtenberg, Catherine
Schwarzenegger and some of the most powerful politicians in Washington, DC.

Bashir says, “people who are kind and compassionate are change makers”. He has volunteered his time
at Crowder Owens Food Bank in Washington, DC and supports the mission of Autism Speaks. He is also a
Peace Love Solve brand ambassador and on the Whistle for Change board of directors. Bashir feels that it
is critical to end the stigma associated with mental health. “Children and adults on the Autism Spectrum
have a significantly increased risk in developing a mental health disorder.”
In Yasir’s spare time he chooses to give back to the community by spreading kindness, inclusion, autism
awareness and autism acceptance. He enjoys traveling, listening to music, exercising, reading, and
spending quality time with his family.
